North Korea Ban

DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), more commonly known as North Korea, has always been a very ambiguous and different nation, with laws that many find extremely absurd such as a limited number of haircuts allowed, generations of punishment and more. Recently, a new set of rules has been added for 11 days in honor of the 10-year death anniversary of Kim Jong-Il. These new laws seem to be preposterous and may come as a shock to the rest of the world. For the 11-day mourning period, North Korea has banned its citizens from laughing. Additionally, no shopping or drinking of alcohol will be permitted during this period. Absurdly enough, on the day of the death anniversary, even grocery shopping is not allowed. Earlier this year, DPRK banned wearing skinny jeans, some body piercings and sporting mullet hairstyles. This move has received international condemnation and has gone viral on social media platforms. The irony is that DPRK starts with considers itself democratic as is in their name (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea).

World’s Leggiest Animal

Australian scientists have discovered an elongated millipede with more legs than any other known species. The first "real" millipede has 1,306 legs and an elongated body of 95 mm. The creature was found in a mining area in Western Australia about 60 meters below. The new species was named Eumillipes Persephone after the Greek goddess of the underworld, Persephone. Discovered in Central California, Illacme plenipes, with up to 750 legs, held a previous record. "To date, the name millipede means ‘thousand feet’, but no centipede with 1,000 legs is known," said Virginia Tech, the lead author of the study in Scientific Reports. University technician Paul Marek said. "In my opinion, this is a stunning animal, a marvel of evolution," said the study co-author Bruno Buzatto, a principal biologist at Bennelongia Environmental Consultants in Perth, Australia.

"It represents the most extreme elongation found to date in millipedes, which were the first animals to conquer land. And this species, in particular, managed to adapt to living tens of meters deep in the soil, in an arid and harsh landscape where it is very hard to find any millipedes surviving on the surface," added Buzatto.

Movie Name: Inside Edge (series)

Genre: Sports thriller

Age rating: 16+ (Language; requires parental consent)

Your rating: ★★★

Writer/Creator: Karan Anshuman

Watch it on: Amazon Prime

Review: Although it is a sports thriller like no other, I must warn the viewer to have parental consent before visiting this series. Set on the cricket field, this 3 season series runs around the “game behind the game” - betting, money laundering, match-fixing- words so uselessly, unconsciously thrown around, but put effectively into play here. I must compliment its actors and their diverse, effective role-playing for it truly builds on each thirty-minute episode. Inside Edge is a stadium filled to the brim with pawns and Kings alike, with Queens and Bishops aplenty, and truly intrigues those that do and do not like cricket. Albeit the plot can be twisted a little too much sometimes, and scenes can get unnecessarily long, I promise you that if you give it a chance, this series will be worth that Extra Free Time you dedicate to your television just to get away from work.
